Piece Pizzeria and Brewery is a brewpub on West North Avenue in Chicago's Wicker Park. Its website says it makes New Haven style pizza and brews its own beer. The doors opened in July 2001, and the site calls it Chicago's most decorated brewpub.
The pizza is modeled on the thin pies of New Haven, Connecticut. The website says founder Bill Jacobs teamed up with Ray Peck, who comes from Sally's Apizza on Wooster Street in New Haven. The building was once a roofing and construction business.
Beer followed a few months after the pizza. The website says Golden Arm, a Kolsch, won bronze at both the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup, and it is still on tap. The beer is brewed in a seven-barrel brewhouse.
Google describes a sports-bar setting with karaoke and live bands some nights. The website lists dine-in, takeout and delivery, plus growlers and crowlers to go.
