About Bear Island Brewing Co.
From Bear Island Brewing's own website and its Google listing, read October 5, 2026.
Bear Island Brewing Co. is a veteran-owned brewery in the Old Firehouse #6 on North Liberty Street in Boise. Its website says the family-owned business has been at work since 2014. The team uses the line "Crafting Community...one pint at a time."
The beer list leans on Idaho. The Idaho Potato Ale is an IPA made with actual Idaho Russet potatoes, and the Idaho Potato Lager is a Euro style pilsner made the same way. The taproom page also lists a Prime In pale ale and Ammo Bocks, a German amber bock.
Its website says the brewery makes only beer, which it calls liquid bread. Local snacks are on hand, and guests can order in food. You can fill a growler or a crowler to take home.
The patio was fully remodeled in 2024 to be covered and comfortable year round. Well-behaved kids and leashed dogs are welcome out there, while inside is for adults.
