About Leaven Brewing
Leaven Brewing is a neighborhood brewery on Boyette Road in Riverview. The brewery says it is Riverview's first brewery. It is run by KJ and Jillian, a husband and wife team.
KJ is the brewer and the owner. He started at Fort Myers Brewing Co., where he became head brewer, and later worked as a senior brewer at Brew Hub. He built the brewery with his own hands and wrote the recipes.
Leaven keeps 12 beers on tap at all times, in a range of styles. The flagship is Cheeky Blonde Ale, and Aging Hipster is a hazy IPA. The tap list has also included a schwarzbier, a brown ale, an Irish style red ale and a house watermelon hard seltzer.
The beer comes from a 5 barrel brewhouse that the owners have named Brewhouse McBrewface. The entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating are wheelchair accessible.
