About Layman Brewing

Layman Brewing is a corner bar with its own nano-brewery on West Madison Street in West Allis. Its website calls it Brew City's Dive Brewery. WUWM reported that the building has been a corner bar for more than a century and that Layman opened in early 2020.

The beer is made one barrel at a time, so the taps change. The website says the brewers pull from historical techniques and recipes to make balanced, easy drinking beers. The house beer Opasbier grew out of co-owner Kyle Ida's great grandfather's 1926 recipe.

Food matters here too. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote that Layman is known for its food as much as its beer, including hand-cut fries and loaded chili cheese fries. The website also describes acoustic music and board games.

It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in West Allis on this site. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance and wheelchair accessible seating.
