Lucky Envelope Brewing is a brewery and tasting room in the East Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. It calls its style culturally inspired beer, with recipes that draw on the heritage of its founders. The tasting room opened in 2015.
The name comes from the Chinese tradition of older relatives giving younger ones red envelopes filled with money. The company says its beers run from classic lagers to tea-infused sour ales. It often brews with unusual ingredients such as lychee and buddha's hand.
Co-founder and brewmaster Barry Chan has a particular love of crisp lagers. His favorites include the Helles Lager, the Vienna Lager and the Italian Pilsner. The company calls its ENIAC Mosaic IPA its flagship IPA.
The tasting room is dog-friendly, and minors are allowed. Food trucks visit on a posted schedule.
