About Big Barn Brewing Company
Big Barn Brewing Company is a farm brewery and tap house on Applewood Lane in Mead, on Green Bluff. The family farm grows its own hops and produce, and the beer is made with farm ingredients and well water. The brewery says its goal is to be self-sustaining.
The tap list is wide. Lone Pine Pilsner is a Czech-style lager, and Mead Honey Lager is made with local honey. Bodacious Blonde Ale, Rusty Red Ale and Black Dog Stout sit alongside several IPAs, from Dunn Day to Fallow.
Food trucks and live music fill the weekends. The tap house is open Wednesday to Sunday. The entrance and the parking lot are both wheelchair accessible.
The farm roots go back to land bought on Green Bluff about 50 years ago. Craig and Jane bought part of it in 1999 and planted raspberry and blackberry bushes.
