Honey Moon Mead & Cider is a meadery and cider house in Bellingham that has been pouring since 2005. In a world awash with beer and wine, it makes mead and cider. Google describes a chill, candle-lit space with outdoor seats and light bites.
Every mead starts with wildflower honey from the foothills of the North Cascades. A Skagit Valley beekeeper stages his hives among blackberry and fireweed blooms. The signature Mead is just honey, water and yeast, and flavored versions include Orange, Wassail, Rhubarb and Raspberry.
CiderHead is an English style cider made from fresh local apples, with no added sugar or concentrate. The lineup runs from a bone-dry CiderHead to a Semi-Sweet one and Mom's Apple Pie, spiced with cinnamon. The website says its Rhubarb CiderHead won gold at the 2015 Pacific Northwest Cider Awards.
