Legend Brewing Co is a brewery and brewpub on West 7th Street in Richmond. Its website says Tom Martin opened it in 1994 as a small tasting room and pub in Old Manchester. It has since grown into a 180 seat restaurant with a 200 seat deck and a small beer garden.
The brewery makes both lagers and ales, which need different yeasts and maturation. Its website says all Legend beers are unpasteurized and made from two-row and specialty barley malt, hops, water and yeast. The year-round list includes a Lager, Pilsner, Brown Ale, Porter and several IPAs.
Its website calls the Brown Ale its most popular beer. It also lists medals for Legend beers from the Virginia Craft Brewers Cup, among other competitions. The pub serves a full menu with burgers and sandwiches to go with the beer.
