About Wasserhund Brewing Company
From Wasserhund Brewing Company's own website and its Google listing, read October 5, 2026.
Wasserhund Brewing Company is a brewpub on Granby Street in Norfolk. It is one of three Wasserhund locations, along with Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. The name means water dog, and the website says it comes from the founders' love of German beer, living near the water and their family dog, Hertz.
The story starts with high school sweethearts and two chemical engineering degrees. A trip to Germany did the rest, according to the website. It describes the brewery as family friendly and dog loving, and says the pizza is a very good one.
Pizza is only part of the kitchen. The Norfolk menu lists appetizers, wings, house-made beer bratwurst, chicken sandwiches, salads and a kids section. Dishes carry dog names like Kibbles and Dog Bones, and there are gluten-free options, a vegan brat and a brunch menu.
The patio is dog friendly, so you can bring your dog along. Trivia runs on Monday nights at the Norfolk location. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating.
