Vacancy Brewing is a brewery and taproom in the St. Elmo warehouse district of South Austin. Brent and Sara Watson founded it after leaving the Bay Area in 2018 for a six month road trip that shaped the brand, and the taproom opened in 2021. Its website lists a 2025 World Beer Cup Gold Award for its Vacancy Classic American Lager.
The taproom pours crisp, easy-drinking lagers and pilsners alongside rotating seasonal releases. Core beers include June, a Hill Country Pilsner, and Cosmic Sans, an Italian pils made in collaboration with Cosmic Coffee. The current tap list also runs to hazy and West Coast IPAs, a mango sour and collaborations with other Austin breweries like Zilker Brewing and Ants Beer Cave.
