Bearded Iris Brewing is a production brewery with a taproom on Van Buren Street in Nashville's Germantown. It opened in 2016. The name comes from the tall bearded iris, the Tennessee state flower.
The menu skews heavily toward IPAs, double IPAs and pale ales. Homestyle, Double Homestyle and Pep Talk Lager are on the lineup, and each beer is named for a type of bearded iris. The brewery's motto is "cultivate variety," which it applies to hops and ingredients rather than a long checklist of styles.
There is no kitchen, but food trucks rotate through and you can bring your own food. Non-beer drinkers get Diskin hard cider, Walker Brothers hard kombucha, draft cocktails, wine and a few non-alcoholic options.
Well-behaved kids are welcome, and dogs can hang out on the patios. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Nashville on this site.

Can I bring food to Bearded Iris?
Yes. The Germantown taproom is always bring your own food friendly, and food trucks rotate through. Bring your own plates and utensils, since the taproom does not supply them.
Are kids and dogs allowed?
Yes. Kids are welcome, but keep an eye on them because the taproom is a working production facility. Dogs need to stay on the patios.
Does Bearded Iris offer tours?
Not right now. You can see the entire brewing area from the taproom, though.
Can I book the taproom for a private event?
Yes. There are no small private rooms, so a private rental takes the whole taproom. With notice, the brewery can often hold table space for a large public group.

Expect a working brewery. Production runs often at Germantown, so the taproom may sound and smell like brewing. Weekday doors open in the afternoon, and Sunday hours are shorter.
