Breweries in Tennessee

Nashville leads the Tennessee beer map, but Knoxville is not far behind. Together they hold nearly a third of the breweries, and Memphis and Chattanooga add a good share more. The rest are spread across dozens of towns, from Clarksville to Johnson City and Kingsport.

Roughly three quarters of the places listed are breweries, and where size is known, most are microbreweries or brewpubs. Beer stores make up close to a fifth, with a few beer gardens and a beer hall.

TailGate Brewery Headquarters in West Nashville started in a former Moose Lodge. Bearded Iris Brewing, also in Nashville, takes its name from the Tennessee state flower. In Memphis, Ghost River Brewery & Taproom is named for a calm stretch of the Wolf River just outside the city.
