Breweries in Rhode Island

Based on the breweries in the brewery.fyi register and their own websites, read September 2026.

In Rhode Island, Pawtucket leads the brewery map, not Providence. Pawtucket holds close to a fifth of the breweries and Providence about an eighth. Cranston and Bristol each hold about a tenth.

The rest sit in towns like Warwick, Middletown, South Kingstown, Cumberland and Westerly. Nearly every place listed is a brewery, with just a few beer stores. Where size is known, most are microbreweries, and brewpubs come next.

Tilted Barn Brewery in Exeter is one of the most reviewed breweries in the state. Long Live Beerworks in Providence and Whalers Brewing Company in South Kingstown also draw plenty of reviews. The Guild in Pawtucket and Grey Sail Brewing in Westerly are popular stops too.

Planning a brewery trip in Rhode Island

Pawtucket makes the easiest base, since more breweries cluster there than anywhere else in the state. Providence and Cranston each add a good group of stops of their own.

Bristol, Warwick and Middletown are worth a stop too. Every brewery page on brewery.fyi has hours, a map and what to know before you go, so check it on the day before you head out.
