About 2 Tones Brewing Co
2 Tones Brewing Co is a brewery and taproom on East Broad Street in Whitehall. Anthony and Tony, the two owners, became friends as roommates at Ohio State. They brewed their first homebrew in 2009 and began brewing commercially in 2016.
Two flagship beers anchor the list. Uncle Joe's Irish Red Ale is made with crushed juniper berries added at the end of the boil, a nod to Anthony's late uncle and his love of gin. The IPA keeps the malt simple and lets the hops lead, with tropical, citrus and floral aromas.
The brewery says its IPA won Best in Show at Barley's Brewing Company's annual homebrew competition in 2013. The owners then spent three years self-distributing to local bars and restaurants. After that, they opened the taproom.
