Masthead Brewing Co. is a brewpub in the historic Bryant Building on Superior Avenue, at the edge of downtown Cleveland. The brewery opened in 2017 inside a car dealership built in 1921. It is a big room, with 300 seats and a 100 foot long bar.
Masthead is known for hazy IPAs, lagers and barrel aged beers. The website says Midwest Red IPA won GABF gold in 2018 and Augenblick Helles Lager won GABF gold in 2020. Its barrel program uses whiskey barrels from top distilleries, for beers like the Sunkiller imperial stout.
The kitchen centers on Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza, plus sandwiches, shareables, salads and desserts. A full bar adds cocktails, cider and wine.
Outside, a 50 seat dog friendly patio looks out on downtown. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Cleveland on this site.
