About Buffalo Commons Brewing Co.
Buffalo Commons Brewing Co. is a brewery with a taproom in Mandan. It began as a home brewing hobby. Its website says Linda bought her husband Ted a home brewing kit in the early 90s, and 20 years later the hobby became a brewery.
The first batch of beer was Salem Sue Stout, brewed in 2013. The website calls it the first Buffalo Commons beer ever made. It is named for the largest milk cow statue in the U.S., in Linda's hometown of New Salem.
The lineup also includes Never Say Never IPA, Northern Border Pale Ale, Honey Blonde Ale and Rusty's Red Ale. BC Brown Ale is the signature beer, described as an Americanized twist on an English Mild. Seasonal beers include a Maibock, a Rauchbier with a hint of smoke and an imperial stout.
In the taproom you can have a pint, fill a growler or buy crowlers. Tours are available on Saturdays by request. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot.
