Fiddlin' Fish Brewing Company is a family-owned brewery and taproom on Trade Street in downtown Winston-Salem. Stuart and Lindsay Barnhart founded it with cousin David Ashe. The name comes from the cousins' childhood summers in the Blue Ridge Mountains, spent hiking, fishing and listening to mountain music.
A 15-barrel brewhouse makes classic styles plus a changing cast of seasonals and one-offs. That Fish Cray New England IPA is the flagship, alongside Cool as the Appalachians Light Lager, Ardmore Amber Ale and Raspberry Currants Wild Sour. There are house hard seltzers, wine, cider and non-alcoholic drinks too.
The taproom has an industrial feel from its tobacco warehouse roots, with murals by local artist Hieronymus. Stuart brews behind steel frame windows reclaimed from the old Nissen Wagon Works factory. Food trucks park outside, and dogs are allowed on the spacious covered patio.
Eight big TVs and a 150-inch projector screen show the games. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Winston-Salem on this site.

What weekly events does Fiddlin' Fish host?
Mondays bring a run club and a no-drop social bike ride. Tuesday is trivia at 7:30, Wednesday is game night, and Thursday is music bingo. Live bands play on many Fridays.
