Wooden Robot Brewery is an urban farmhouse brewery on South Tryon Street in Charlotte's South End. This is its original location, with a taproom, a kitchen and a coffee bar under one roof. The coffee bar means the doors open in the morning, long before most breweries.
Wooden Robot opened in 2015 as a 15-barrel brewery. It blends Belgian brewing traditions with American craft beer, so expect farmhouse ales, oak-aged sours, IPAs and lagers. Good Morning Vietnam, a coffee vanilla blonde ale, is one of the beers in its archive.
The South End kitchen has its own chef, and you can order weekday lunch online for pickup at the bar. Children are welcome with an adult. Beer goes home in crowlers.
Tuesdays are busy here, with a run club at 6:30 and trivia at 7. Football Sundays bring a burger and beer special. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Charlotte on this site.
