Gilde Brewery & Restaurant is a German brewpub in the Lower South End area of Charlotte, on Dewitt Lane. Its website says Charlotte was picked for Gilde's first American brewery because of a shared history: Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the city's namesake, was also electress and queen of Hannover, Germany, Gilde's hometown.
