Fifth Hammer Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom on 46th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. It sits one subway stop from Midtown Manhattan, between Vernon Boulevard and 11th Street. The taproom is open seven days a week and pours a rotating lineup of house-made beers.
The beer menu is split into groups. There are cask ales, hazy and West Coast IPAs, fruited sours, crisp lagers and darker beers like a nitro stout. Guest wines, ciders, sake, kombucha and non-alcoholic beer are on hand for anyone who wants something else.
There is no kitchen, but food trucks and pop-up kitchens come every weekend. You can also bring your own food or have it delivered. Seating runs indoors and outdoors, weather permitting, with TVs behind the bar and a large projection screen.
Tuesday is trivia night at 7pm, and Thursday brings live music in the Brewside Lounge from 6pm to 9pm. More people have reviewed Fifth Hammer on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Long Island City on this site.

Can I bring my dog or my kids to Fifth Hammer?
Yes to both. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in the taproom. Children are welcome too, as long as they are well-behaved and supervised.
Does Fifth Hammer serve food?
There is no kitchen. Food trucks and pop-up kitchens set up every weekend, and you are welcome to bring your own food or have it delivered.
Can I take beer home?
Yes. The taproom sells 4-packs and single cans of most of its beers. It does not fill growlers or sell crowlers.
Can I book a table for a group?
Yes. Fifth Hammer takes reservations for groups of 8 or more. It also rents a private area on the brewery side that fits up to 40 guests.

Take the train if you can. The Vernon Blvd to Jackson Av stop on the 7 is the closest, and the LIC ferry landing is nearby too. There is no parking lot, only limited street parking and garages.

Other breweries are a short walk away. Transmitter Brewing is about a four minute walk, and Focal Point and ICONYC are just past it.
