About Hopshire Farm and Brewery
Hopshire Farm and Brewery is a family-owned farm brewery on Dryden Road in Freeville. Chris and Holly Rakow run it. The brewery says it opened in 2013 as the fifth farm brewery in New York.
The beer leans on local farms. Honey, ginger and maple syrup come from nearby growers, and a local cider mill helps make hard cider from 100% New York apples.
The kitchen serves a limited, pizza-focused menu. The tasting room also sells cheeses from local creameries, and one creamery makes a cheese with Hopshire's Shire Ale.
Something is on most weeks. Trivia runs on Wednesdays, live music plays on Fridays and yoga meets on Tuesdays. An event space is available for private events.
