About Subversive Malting + Brewing
Subversive Malting + Brewing is a farmhouse brewery on West Bridge Street in Catskill, New York. Its website calls it a true American farmhouse brewery at the foot of the Catskills. The site says all of its beers use 100% locally sourced grains.
Many of the beers also use local hops, fruits and herbs, according to the site. The brewery opened in 2018 in a small barn in Livingston. It later moved production into an old mechanic's garage in the village of Catskill, and the taproom opened in 2020.
The taproom has a kitchen, and Google also lists the place as a brewpub and pizza restaurant. Seating is first come first served. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are allowed outside and in the heated tent.
Outside there is a beer garden with a stage. The events page lists live music, free outdoor movie nights and biweekly trivia on Thursdays. Subversive is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Catskill on this site.
