About Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company

Johnnie Byrd Brewing Company is a neighborhood brewery and taproom in Wayne, Nebraska. The brewery says it is Nebraska's first benefit corporation brewery. Ten percent of its annual profits go back into rural Nebraska.

The tap list keeps moving. The taproom runs 10 taps, with three flagship beers always on and one of the other seven changed at least weekly. A three barrel brewhouse keeps batches small, and the brewery has made over 350 recipes.

The flagships are Abe's Honey Porter, Margaery Grapefruit TIPA and Vanilla White Girl Milk Stout. The brewery says Abe's Honey Porter won second place in the porter and stout class at the National Honey Beer Competition in 2018 and 2020.

Spirits and hard soda sit alongside the beer. The Coop event space has a stage for live music or a DJ. A beer garden opens up in the warmer months.
