About Elk River Brewing Company
Elk River Brewing Company is a nano brewery on East Main Street in Elkton. Owners Brad and Jessica Carrillo grew up in Colorado's beer culture and wanted to bring good beer to Cecil County. They have lived in Elkton for over 16 years.
The brewing system uses two single-vessel brew kettles, and the malt sits in a stainless basket inside each one. Each kettle makes 3 barrels, so the team can brew one 3-barrel batch, two separate ones, or one 6-barrel batch. The malt comes from Proximity Malt, a nearby Delaware company.
The taproom has a Biergarten, and there is live music there in summer. Dogs are welcome inside and out if they stay leashed and away from doorways and restrooms. You must be 21 to enter the taproom.
Whiskey Night, trivia and music bingo show up on the events calendar, along with beer releases and pop-ups. You can also buy growlers, or bring in a clean, empty one to be filled. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Elkton on this site.
