About 1812 Brewery

1812 Brewery is a family-run farm brewery on Mason Road in Cumberland, Maryland. It works out of a repurposed barn that its website says was built in 1812. The site says it is the first farm brewery in Allegany County.

The family started growing hops on its 100-acre farm in 2017. Its website lists Creekside Pilsner, Mountain Valley Lager and Cumberland Blues Pale Ale, among others. The lagers use Maryland-grown barley from Bear Branch Malt.

Outside, there is a patio, a playground and a swing set. The website calls the brewery very family-friendly. Dogs other than service and therapy dogs are not allowed in the taproom.

Live music plays on the outdoor stage, and food trucks visit on event nights. A farmers market and craft show runs on the first Sunday of the month from April through December. More people have reviewed 1812 Brewery on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Cumberland on this site.
