About Monhegan Brewing Company
Monhegan Brewing Company is a family owned brewery and taproom on Monhegan Island, Maine. Its motto is craft beer, 10 miles out to sea. Matt and Mary Weber, year-round island residents, run it with Mary's father, Danny McGovern.
The taproom pours five beers on tap and two handcrafted sodas. Favorites include Balmy Days Citra Kölsch, Island Farm Double IPA and Mad Cow Milk Stout. Island Farm uses the brewery's spent grain and grows hops for the double IPA.
All seating is outdoors, under tents and umbrellas. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. An on-site food truck called The Bait Bag serves fried seafood baskets and sandwiches, with vegetarian options.
Beer and hard seltzer are the only alcohol served. The taproom is seasonal and closes for the off-season, when Matt goes back to lobstering.
