About Moderation Brewing
Moderation Brewing is a brewery and bar in downtown Brunswick. Its website says the taproom building dates back to at least 1875 and first served as an American Express office for the town. The brewery opened there in March 2018.
Two Brunswick natives, Mattie Daughtry and Philip Welsh, started the brewery. Its website says the beers use mostly Maine-grown ingredients, with a focus on seasonally foraged produce. The brewers also use kveik, a group of yeasts that come from Norway.
The taproom pours its own beer plus guest taps, wine, sparkling wine and non-alcoholic beer and cocktails. Snacks, pies and charcuterie are on hand, and you are welcome to bring your own food. Food trucks rotate nearly every day throughout the summer, and Tuesday is always Taco Tuesday.
Moderation also runs trivia and takes private events. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Brunswick on this site.
