About Moontown Brewing Company
Moontown Brewing Company is a brewpub in Whitestown, Indiana, set inside a former school gymnasium. The building began as a grade school in 1895, and a high school followed in 1915. The taproom and event space opened in January 2018, with the full brewpub following in March.
The beer menu runs from lagers and a hefeweizen to hazy IPAs, a West Coast IPA and a robust porter. Its flagship, Cecil, is a hazy IPA made with local Sugar Creek malt from Lebanon, Indiana. A Pints for Parks series appears on the menu too.
The old high school now holds the kitchen. The bar tops, tables and tap handles were built from one Bur Oak that took root in 1895. Basketball court markings in the 1915 Room have been repainted in their original spots.
That room hosts events from weddings to work parties. A smaller Panther Room suits more intimate gatherings.
