About Mahalo Aleworks

Mahalo Aleworks is a family-owned brewery and taproom in the Kulamalu Town Center on upcountry Maui. It sits at about 1,900 feet on the slopes of Haleakala. The brewery says Hop Culture called it one of the best new breweries in America in 2022.

The beer list mixes revived classics with new ideas. The brewers make styles like English brown ale and black IPA, and they are working on a style they call the Hawaii Weisse. The brewery says its English brown ale won a gold medal at the Hawaii Craft Beer Awards.

The taproom mixes vintage and modern industrial finishes, with open glass garage doors. Downstairs has beer garden tables. Upstairs is a lounge with leather loveseats and a close view of the brewhouse.

The ground level lanai and second floor balconies look up the slopes of Haleakala and out to the Pacific Ocean and the West Maui Mountains. Kids are welcome, and the men's room has a baby changing table. Beer to go comes in 32 ounce crowler cans.
