About Hoax Brewing Company
Hoax Brewing Company is a brewery on Bradley St in East Haven, Connecticut. Owners Sean Ricci and Austin Scott started it in 2018 with no investors and no bank loans. The two met while working at beer bars together.
The beer began with a 5-gallon pot in Ricci's kitchen. They later built a draft system and turned his garage into a bar to host parties. The name came from a placeholder that stuck, because they did not want to spend time hunting for the perfect one.
Today Hoax self-distributes. The team delivers by hand to over 500 accounts across Connecticut, and Austin Scott still brings the kegs in himself. The brewery says the team are the Connecticut beer world heavyweight champions.
The entrance and parking lot are wheelchair accessible. More people have reviewed Hoax Brewing Company on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in East Haven on this site.
