Stronghouse Brew Pub is a brewery and restaurant on South Fir Street in downtown Telluride. It fills a stone building from 1892. Its website says USA Today readers voted it Best Brew Pub in America.
The website describes an 1880s mahogany bar as the centerpiece of the room. An antique two-story lift still stands in the middle, left from the days when the building was a warehouse. The beer is brewed on site.
The tap list rotates. It has included a German-style pilsner called Stronghouse Lager, a Mexican-style pale lager, a West Coast IPA and a stout served on nitro. Food is comfort fare, with Colorado made brats and a warm pretzel with beer cheese.
