About Brewyard Beer Company
Brewyard Beer Company is a micro brewery in a converted warehouse on Western Avenue in Glendale. It makes Filipino and Japanese inspired beers, and that is the reason to visit. Its website says it opened in 2015 as Glendale's very first micro-brewery.
Lagers are the focus here. The brewery says its mission is to redefine and rediscover the universe of lagers. It brews hybrids with the strong flavor of an ale and the crisper finish of a lager, in styles from hoppy and roasty to smoky, malty, fruity and pale.
The owners are of Filipino and Japanese descent, and they experiment with Filipino and other Asian ingredients. They also make Belgian ales and barrel aged beers. Their website says you can also find the beers at Asian markets.
The brewery and taproom share an open layout, so you can follow the brewing from the milling of the grain to the kegging out of the tanks. Ask, and the website says you will probably get an impromptu tour.
