About Pizza Port Carlsbad
Pizza Port Carlsbad is a brewery and pizza restaurant on Carlsbad Village Drive. Its website says this was the second Pizza Port, opened in 1997 after the original in Solana Beach. Google describes the chain as known for its craft brews, popular with families, beer fans and surfers alike.
The company began in 1987, when siblings Gina and Vince Marsaglia bought a struggling pizza place in Solana Beach. Vince started brewing at home, and Pizza Port poured its first craft-brewed beers in 1992.
The company's beer list includes Swami's IPA, Mongo Double IPA, Chronic Ale and Amigo Lager. Ponto Session IPA and California Honey Blonde Ale are lower in alcohol. The website groups its beers into year round, seasonal and specialty.
The kitchen makes original pizzas, loaded Anti Wimpy pizzas and build-your-own pizzas. Munchies and salads round out the menu. Pizza Port Carlsbad is one of the most reviewed breweries in Carlsbad on this site.
