About 8-Bit Aleworks
8-Bit Aleworks is a brewery with a retro-gaming theme, in an industrial complex in Avondale. Its website says Ryan and Krystina Whitten opened it in May 2015. It also calls the brewery the first one within the city of Avondale.
The tasting room seats 46 guests. It has NES and Super Nintendo systems, arcade cabinets, a pinball machine and tabletop games. The walls carry hand-painted 8-bit artwork, including a 9-foot tall Kefka from Final Fantasy VI.
The flagship beers have gaming names. White Mage is a wit, Black Mage is a stout, Hopsassin's Creed is a session IPA and Legend of Zymur is a double IPA. The brewery works in small batches, and new beers show up often.
The brewery does not serve food, but guests can bring their own. More people have reviewed 8-Bit Aleworks on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Avondale on this site.
