Homer Brewing Company is a brewery in Homer, at the end of the road on Kachemak Bay, 220 miles south of Anchorage. Its website says it has welcomed locals and visitors since 1996. You can drink in the tap room or at the outdoor seating area.
The website shows a sampling of what is on tap. Broken Birch Best Bitter is the signature, a light, traditional session ale with citrus notes from Centennial and Cascade hops. Odyssey Oatmeal Stout and Red Knot Scottish round out that list.
The brewery also makes chai. Its website calls it the only authentic Indian masala spiced chai produced in Alaska, and says you can buy a jug of the concentrate at the brewery.
Steve McCasland, Lasse Holmes and Karen Berger started the company after meeting through a homebrew cooperative called the Q & Q Guild. Homer Brewing Company is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Homer on this site.
