About Haines Brewing Company, Inc.
Haines Brewing Company, Inc. is a brewery at the corner of 4th and Main Streets in Haines. Paul Wheeler and Jeanne Kitayama have owned and run it since it was established in 1999. Its first brew, Dalton Trail Ale, is still a flagship.
The beers are not filtered or pasteurized. The lineup runs from Dalton Trail Ale, a light-bodied pale ale, to Lookout Stout and Eldred Rock Red. Seasonal beers such as Captain Cook's Spruce Tip Ale, made with young local spruce tips, come and go.
The brewery moved to Main Street in 2015. The tasting room serves 49 people indoors, and there is an outdoor beer garden. Beer is brewed on a 7 barrel brewhouse.
Alaska law lets you drink up to 36 ounces per person per day on site. You can also take beer home by the liter or half gallon growler. Haines Brewing supports the Great Alaska Craft Beer Festival, held every year in Haines.
