Anchorage Brewing Company is a brewery with a tasting room on West 91st Avenue in Anchorage. It does not keep a line of traditional beers with one specialty on the side. Instead, the website says every beer gets everything the brewery has, so the Tasting Room is the place to see what is new.
The tap list leans on mixed culture sours, coolship saisons and big barrel-aged beers. Recent pours included Fingal, a coolship saison, and Black Barrel and The Bad Men, a mixed culture sour with blackberries. Drink Me, a double oaked dark ale with cocoa and coffee, runs 19.25% ABV.
IPAs have a place too, from Kindness at 4% to Overwhelmed, a double IPA. Bottles and cans are sold as well, plus Tiger Tears, a non-alcoholic sparkling hop water. The beers are distributed nationally and abroad.
Gabe Fletcher is the founder and brewer, and the brewery puts on its own event, The Culmination Festival. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Anchorage on this site.
