49th State Brewing - Anchorage is a brewpub on West 3rd Avenue in downtown Anchorage. It fills a three story, 30,000 square foot building that began as an Elks Lodge in 1917. The website says it sits on the water with a view of the Alaska Range.
The building was a social club for decades, with a bar, bowling lanes and a ballroom. It became a brewery and restaurant in 1996, and 49th State opened its pub here in 2016. Today it has two dining rooms, two rooftop patios, a theater, three private dining spaces and a gift shop.
Year round beers include 8 Star Lager, Solstice IPA, 907 Pale Ale and Nitro McCarthy Stout. The website says Solstice IPA has been rated among the top 10 IPAs in the country on Untappd. The brewery also makes a gluten-free hard seltzer.
Google describes a lively brewpub with creative bar bites and housemade ales. The Anchorage pub brews on site too.
