About Haywire Brewing Co
Haywire Brewing Co is a family-run brewery on Rainier Street in Snohomish. Its website says the story began with a Craigslist ad looking for a distillery or brewery to open in a hay barn. The owner's wife, in-laws and friends helped build the place.
The owner started out homebrewing with a club in Memphis, Tennessee, and won a handful of homebrew awards. After moving to Washington, the owner and a father-in-law built a half-barrel electric automated brewing system. They tuned recipes on it for friends and family before opening.
The website lists medals from the Washington Beer Awards. These include bronze for Pig Sty Red Rye IPA and silver for Rye'd Into the Dark, a black rye IPA. It also lists silver for Silo, a sessions IPA, from the Brewers Choice Awards.
