Breweries in South Dakota

Sioux Falls holds nearly a third of the breweries in South Dakota, more than any other city by a wide margin. Rapid City comes next with about a tenth. The top three cities hold just under half of the list.

The rest are spread across a couple dozen towns, including Spearfish, Yankton, Hill City, Brookings, Lead and Sturgis. Nearly everything on the list is a brewery. Where size is known, microbreweries outnumber brewpubs about two to one, and beer stores and beer halls are few.

Firehouse Brewing Company and Lost Cabin Beer Co. in Rapid City are among the most reviewed breweries in the state. In Sioux Falls, Remedy Brewing Company and WoodGrain Brewing Co. draw plenty of reviews. Miner Brewing Company in Hill City and Wooden Legs Brewing Company in Brookings do too.
