Breweries in South Carolina
Based on the breweries in the brewery.fyi register and their own websites, read September 2026.
Charleston and Greenville lead the South Carolina beer map. Charleston holds about an eighth of the breweries, and North Charleston adds a solid group of its own. Greenville comes next with about a tenth, followed by Columbia, Myrtle Beach and Rock Hill.
Most places listed are breweries, and beer stores make up about a sixth. Where size is known, microbreweries lead, with brewpubs not far behind.
Holy City Brewing in North Charleston and Edmund's Oast Brewing Co. in Charleston are two of the most reviewed breweries in the state. Yee-Haw Brewing Company in Greenville and Low Tide Brewing on Johns Island also draw plenty of reviews. Southern Barrel Brewing Co. in Bluffton and The Blue Ridge Brewing Company in Greer round out that list.

Planning a brewery trip in South Carolina
Charleston makes the easiest base, since more breweries cluster there than anywhere else in the state. North Charleston and Johns Island add more stops.
Greenville is the next best choice, and Columbia and Myrtle Beach each have a small group of their own. Hilton Head Island, Fort Mill and Lexington have a few more.
Every brewery page on brewery.fyi has hours, a map and what to know before you go. Check it on the day, since taproom hours can change.
