About Boal City Brewing
Boal City Brewing is a brewery and taproom on Old Boalsburg Rd in Boalsburg. It sits at the base of Rothrock State Forest, with trails starting out the back door. Downtown State College is ten minutes away.
The taproom pours 8 beers and sells cans to go. Styles run from a West Coast IPA and a Bohemian pilsner to a kolsch, a witbier and a raspberry kettle sour. Head Brewer Mike Smith has spent nearly two decades behind the tanks, including time at Dogfish Head.
Out back is a beer garden, and parking is free on site. Rotating food trucks and live music come through the taproom. Kids are welcome, and leashed dogs can join you in the beer garden.
Not drinking beer? The bar also serves cocktails, regional ciders, local wines and espresso. The brewery says State College Magazine voted it Best Local Craft Beer (Gold) in 2024.

Expect a relaxed taproom with open seating. There are no reservations, so come a little early on busy weekends and live music nights. From Thursday to Saturday, the taproom is 21 and over after 8:30 pm.
