Brewery Bhavana is a brewery and dim sum restaurant on South Blount Street in downtown Raleigh. It is also a flower shop and a bookstore under one roof. The website calls it a living room for the city.
The beers are Belgian inspired, and the brewery keeps them very dry, with little or no residual sweetness. Some are aged in wine barrels and foeders with wild yeasts, which turns them funky or sour. Founding brewer Patrick set out to bring Belgian elegance to IPAs, pale ales, lagers and barrel-aged saisons.
The kitchen serves dim sum and Chinese dishes. Lunch runs dumplings, bao and salads, with vegan and gluten free choices marked. The website names the char siu bao, made by hand each day, as its most popular dim sum.
