About High Alpine Brewing Company
High Alpine Brewing Company is a brewery and restaurant in downtown Gunnison, Colorado. It opened in the summer of 2015, when Scott started it as a way to bring the community together one pint at a time. It uses Proximity Malting Company of Monte Vista, Colorado for all of its base malt.
The core four beers are Gunny Gold Kolsch, Green Gate IPA, Anthracite Amber Ale and Sol's Espresso Stout. The stout is brewed with a special espresso blend from Tributary Coffee Roasters. There are also seasonal beers, including a German pilsner and an Italian basil ale.
Food is a big part of the visit. The kitchen makes brick oven pizzas, with dough, sauces and dressings made in-house from scratch. The menu also has salads and appetizers, and the drink menu covers cocktails, beer cocktails, zero proof drinks, wine and cider. That makes it an easy place to start if you are new to town.
