Crooked Stave Denver Taproom is the taproom of Crooked Stave Brewing Co., in Denver's Sunnyside neighborhood. The brewery began in 2010 as the Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, founded by Chad Yakobson. Its website says it earned acclaim for pioneering work with wild and barrel-aged beers.
Today the beers cover a wide range. The website lists crisp lagers, hop-forward IPAs, stouts, small-batch experiments and the barrel-aged sours that first put the brewery on the map. Brewing happens on a 25 hectoliter brewhouse alongside a 30 hectoliter coolship.
Crooked Stave is majority woman-owned. Yetta Vorobik operates it, and Chad Yakobson remains involved as a guiding visionary. The brewery makes between 6,500 and 7,000 barrels a year.
The taproom hosts workshops, including pottery and bonsai classes where you can hold a drink while you make something. Crooked Stave also makes custom-labeled cans for gifts, weddings and company gatherings.
