About Lamppost Pizza & Backstreet Brewery
Lamppost Pizza & Backstreet Brewery is the Vista location of Lamppost Pizza, on Main Street. Lamppost is a family owned California chain that has been serving pizza since 1976. The Vista store keeps its own tap list alongside the pizza, and Google notes TVs tuned to sports.
Brothers Tom and Dan Barro started Lamppost with their father, Angelo, in May 1976. It has grown to twelve restaurants in several California counties, and Tom and Dan still run it. The website says Lamppost pioneered its specialty pizzas in the early 1980s.
The dough is hand-tossed, stretched by hand each day and never pressed by machine. Specialty pies include a taco pizza and a pesto pizza with artichoke hearts and garlic. The wider menu covers calzones, wings, salads, subs and pasta, though each location's menu varies slightly.
The website describes a family atmosphere with roomy booths where every age is welcome. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating.
