Taplands is a brewery, taproom and bottle shop on Homestead Road in Santa Clara. Its website puts it in downtown Santa Clara, in the Old Quad district near Santa Clara University. The founder says the vision is a neighborhood bar and bottle shop that is also a center of beer discovery in Silicon Valley.
Its website describes 27 rotating taps, with 23 craft beers, two craft ciders, a non-alcoholic craft beer and a craft cocktail. The focus is on Bay Area breweries, with a special fondness for smaller, lesser known beers. It also brews its own beer on site, drawing on more than 20 years of homebrewing experience.
The coolers hold a curated selection of bottles and cans, along with wine and other options. The kitchen serves snacks and sandwiches, and there is a kids menu for ages 12 and under. The patio is outdoors, and its website calls it one of the only outdoor patios in the area.
