Protector Brewery Hide Site is a taproom and pizza kitchen on the ground floor of the InterContinental Hotel on San Diego's downtown waterfront. It opened in June 2024 as the second location for Protector Brewery, whose beers are USDA organic. The name Hide Site nods to founder Sean Haggerty's time as a Navy SEAL sniper and refers to a concealed observation post.
The taproom pours Protector's full organic lineup, including a West Coast style IPA, a hazy Mosaic pale ale, a hazy IPA with citrus and mango notes and a Citra juicy double IPA with grapefruit and passion fruit flavor. There is also an SD lager. Every beer is brewed with US grown, non-GMO ingredients and no synthetic pesticides or artificial flavors.
The interior mixes industrial details with the brewery's Spartan helmet branding, and the location looks out over San Diego Bay. The kitchen serves thin crust pizzas, fresh salads and seasonal appetizers. Protector Brewery also books private and semi-private events here, with catering and free parking for groups of any size.
