Novo Brazil Brewing - Otay Ranch is a brewpub on Birch Road in Chula Vista. It is where Novo Brazil started, in a 12,000 square foot space that holds a bar, a restaurant and the brewery. The Carneiro family founded Novo, and its motto is "Inspired by Brazil, brewed in San Diego."
The beer list includes Chula Pils, Coco Haze, Momo Haze, Ipanema and Corvo Negro, a Russian imperial stout. The website says Corvo Negro won a bronze medal at the 2016 World Beer Cup. Novo also makes its own Nova hard kombucha, plus non-alcoholic versions.
Novo's menu mixes Brazilian dishes like cheese balls, coxinha and empanadas with burgers, tacos and steak. There is a kids menu, and the brewery describes its brewpubs as colorful, family-friendly places with huge screens.
Cans and growlers are sold to go at every Novo location. More people have reviewed this Novo on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Chula Vista on this site.
