About Triple Rock Brewing
Triple Rock Brewing is a brewpub on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley. Brothers John and Reid Martin opened it in 1986. Its website says it was the fifth brewpub in America and the oldest still run by its original founders.
The beer is brewed on site, on the original 7-barrel system, under Head Brewer Jeff Kimpe. The website says 8 to 12 of its own beers are on tap at any moment, from crisp pilsners to hop-packed IPAs. The lineup changes often.
The kitchen serves burgers and other pub food, and a Chow & Brau lunch special changes every week. Sunday is Family Day, with crayons, coloring books and games for kids. Wednesday is trivia night with Geeks Who Drink, and Thursday is Monkey Head Night.
Groups can book the Beer Hall, the Roof Deck or the Lounge for parties. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Berkeley on this site.
